The bag has a handle strap and a detachable and adjustable shoulder strap. The opening is gathered tight by the leather straps and secured with a stopper. The inside lining is made of cotton in the Unikko pattern, which is printed in Helsinki. The Marimekko logo is debossed on the sides and bottom of the bag.
The Imprint leather bag series features a milestone in leather manufacturing that we are especially proud of: traceable Scandinavian leather. Every single piece of leather used in Imprint bags can be traced down to an individual farm, to ensure the high quality in the raw material. The bags are manufactured in Abruzzo, Italy with handmade finishing details. The inner lining of the bags is 50% recycled cotton and printed in Marimekko´s historic printing mill in Helsinki, Finland. The Imprint bag series represents utmost attention to every single detail in how a leather bag is created, from sourcing of the materials to design and manufacture.
Unikko, symbolizing creativity, was born in a time when hardly any floral designs were included in Marimekko’s collections. Maija Isola, however, was fascinated by the theme of flowers and decided to create an entire range of novel floral prints.
